Zuhua XUPhD student
Zuhua XU is originally from a small coastal city in Guangdong. I obtained Bachelor’s degree in 2019 from South China University of Technology. I obtained my Master’s degree in 2022 from Shenzhen University, under supervision of Prof. Li Weiwen and Prof. Wang Yaocheng. In the same year, I worked as a Research Assistant at both Shenzhen University and the University of Macau. In 2023, I enrolled at the University of Macau (supervised by Professor Chen Binmeng) and is currently pursuing my doctoral degree.
My research focuses on the durability and functionalization of cement-based materials, as well as the development of related nanomaterials. I am dedicated to understanding key components of cementitious systems—particularly calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H)—from a microstructural perspective, including aspects such as chemical structure, silicate chain polymerization, carbonation water retention, and chloride ion binding mechanisms. Based on these insights, I am developing functional cement-based materials with properties such as shrinkage reduction and adsorption capabilities.
